TTB Approved

Even the epicness of this star-spangled eagle fails to express our current excitement at Sanitas Brewing Company. We were approved by the American Alcohol and Tobacco Tax and Trade Bureau to make beer. Although this might sound like a meager accomplishment in the grand scheme of all things Sanitas, it is actually quite important. See, we are in the business of making beer. Without the blessing of good ‘ol Uncle Sam, we can’t do so. Furthermore, the process of acquiring TTB approval is known to be a slightly exhausting ordeal, not to mention long. The average processing period for a TTB application is currently 90 days. Many take even longer than that to be approved. The key is being proactive in helping them get done what they need to get done, as well as being very precise in filling out each document in the mountain of fill-in-the-blank and check-the-box paperwork. We received our approval email less than a month after processing began, the quickest turnaround I’ve ever heard of. After experiencing the “nightmare” of acquiring federal go-ahead, we have nothing but kind words for the folks at the TTB. They were professional, concise, and courteous throughout every stage of the extensive process.

In short, in the eyes of the American government, we are now a functioning brewery. The next step is state approval, which could come in any day. You know what comes after that.

Hope you’re thirsty.
